Set up Notifications: Email & SMS

Whether you want your user to get an automatic 'Welcome' confirmation e-mail or to instantly notify yourself and your team of a new lead, the Notifications feature has all the tools you need.

First, you need to be logged into your MightyForms App

1. Select a form

Once there, you can:

2. Go to Notifications

Once you've selected the form you want to have an automatic notification added, click on 'Notifications' on the left side of your dashboard.

3. Add New Notification

Simply click on 'Add New Notification'. It can be either Email or SMS notifications.

3.a Setting up an Email notification

The notification Settings will dropdown so you can add all the details about your message.

Name the notification created, to keep all notifications identifiable and organized. And add a Subject for the email notification.

Then you’ll decide who will receive the notifications: someone from your team, the respondent, and/or yourself.

Now it’s time to define if the notification will be sent from your business email address or MightyForms's 'no-reply' or 'result' email address.

The recipient 'To' field depends on whom you're making the notification for. If it's for you or your team, simply add their email address manually. If it's for the user who submitted to your form, you need to first make sure you ask for their email address with an Input Field that is specific for an email address

The next step is to define if the notification will be sent either when the form is submitted or abandoned.

Now, all that is left is for you to write the message. If you’re sending it to the respondent you can customize the message by automatically inserting the Name field, so their name can appear on the message. Personalize each message automatically.

Once you are done, click on 'Save and Add'.

3.b Setting SMS Notification

After you click on “Add New Notification” the settings will drop down so you can add all the customizations and edits to your Notification.

To add an SMS Notification is even simpler.

First, you add its Title so you can identify the notification. Then you choose whether the notification will be sent if the form has been submitted or abandoned.

Now you define who receives the notification. You can add a phone number manually, or add the Phone Number field so you can send personalized messages for respondents.

And then all that’s left is for you to write a short message.

And that’s it. You can easily inform your lead or team every time a form is submitted or abandoned.

Protips

  • Include personalized data from the form submission into your message by selecting it with the 'Add Field' tool as you type in your message.
  • Check the box marked 'Submission as a PDF' and the data submitted in your form will be sent to you in PDF format.
  • And if you are using a Google Drive or Dropbox integration to receive Uploaded files, you can select the field so that the file is sent as an attachment to your email.

Once you click on 'Save and Add', your notification is live and active. If you ever change your mind about your notification, you can always go to your form's Notifications settings and deactivate (i.e. pause), edit, or delete your notification.
