How to Prefill Form Fields Using Manual Prefill with MightyForms
With MightyForms’ Manual Prefill feature, prepopulating your form fields with data becomes seamless and efficient, all within the form builder. No longer will you need to maintain multiple URLs in a spreadsheet, as prefilled URLs are conveniently saved within your settings, ready to be shared whenever necessary. Additionally, your data is kept secure, as prefill URLs are saved with unique tokens for added protection.
So, how do you prefill form fields with the data you provide using Manual Prefill? Let’s get started!
- In the MightyForms Form Builder, navigate to the Prefills tab.
- Click on the Manual Prefill option.
- Click on the "Add a New Prefill" button. This will open the form where you can enter the data for further prefilling.
- Fill in all the fields you wish to prepopulate. Once done, click the Create button.
Useful Tips:
- You can change the name of the prefill entry to your preferred label by clicking the three dots next to the prefill. We recommend renaming it with the name or email of the user.
- You can select all Prefilled URLs and send or delete them at once. Click "Select All" and then choose the desired action: "Send Invitation" or "Delete".
- When you click the "Send Invitation" button, a popup window will appear for entering the recipient’s email address for each prefilled URL. Optionally, you can add a message. Once ready, click the "Send Invitation" button at the bottom of the window.
- Note that you can only send an invitation to up to five (5) people at a time. Selecting more than this number will display an error message and the button to send the invitation will be grayed out.
On each Prefilled URL, clicking the 3-dot menu will allow you to do the following:
- Edit - if you want to edit a specific prefill.
- Lock - allows you to password protect this prefill.
- Send Invite – if you wish to send the prefilled URL individually. It’s useful if the user lost the previous invitation.
- Copy URL – if you wish to send the prefilled URL manually.
- Rename – if you want to change the name of the Prefilled URL.
- Delete – to delete the prefilled URL.
Manual Prefill supports the following fields only:
- Input
- Number
- Phone
- Price
- URL
- Long Text
- Address
- Date/Time
- Dropdown
- Multiple Choice
- Icons Choice
- Single Choice
- Images Choice
- Rating
- Score
